I had a discussion with some friends the other day - about just how many snake-oil salesmen seem to be out'n about nowadays - ie: people claiming to teach 'tactical/law enforcement training solutions - but who have really just taught the odd police officer in their run-o-the-mill classes - there are people out there selling 'wealth creation' systems - yet are barely able to make ends meet themselves - there are people making all kinds of noise about 'integrity, honour, respect - but if you lift the curtain, it is plain to see that they themselves do not live in accordance with these ideals - people who are selling 'cutting edge' combative 'innovations' that they have just been taught by other people (people who they have not given credit to) - falsely creating the idea that they themselves are creative and innovative - and so on. The landscape, it seems, is literally crawling with snake-oil salesmen ... the sad thing is that good people, with good intentions are not only being misled by such individuals - but are having their time (time they can never get back) wasted and misspent. When someone is trying to sell you something - lift the curtain and see if they themselves are using their own product - with success. Just be prepared to be regularly disappointed ...
