Why I am motivated teaching fundamentals …


I constantly view the teaching of fundamentals as a challenge …. a challenge to try to get an even better result each and every time I teach the ’same’ class.

Can I re-structure it in some way to get better outcomes? Can I tell a better ‘story’ to put a ‘clearer’ picture in the mind of the student? What can I do with the ‘design’ of the class that excites ME and keeps me fully and GENUINELY engaged?

I often start with a ‘big picture’ iteration of what I am trying to teach … then …
  • I add one detail
  • I add another 
  • then add another
  • and so the process begins.
