Wherever you are is exactly where you need to be ...

Can't keep back control? Your opponent keeps escaping? Perfect ... that's your opportunity to develop a great kata gatame and a great crucifix. Can't defend your guard? Your opponent keeps passing? Perfect ... That's when you will develop your side control defence. Can't get on top? Develop your guard. Can't sweep? Develop 'blocking' and 'hip mobility'.

There is no such thing as a bad position ... there are just different kinds of learning opportunities. Wherever you are ... is where you need to be. There is learning to be had .... right there; both on and of the mat. Joyful practice comes from knowing this. JBW
